When purchasing counselling services from Counselling Choice we ask all clients to confirm that they have read and agree to the terms and conditions of the Counsellor and Client Agreement.

Confidentiality & privacy policy

Personal information supplied by clients in counselling sessions will be treated as confidential. It will not be disclosed to a third party without the client’s prior permission, save where required by law or where action might be necessary to prevent harm to the client or someone else.

Technology is not guaranteed as secure. In making use of technology to contact and work with Counselling Choice, clients must accept the risks surrounding confidentiality regarding the use of email, text, phone, and other forms of communication technology.

This privacy policy sets out how Counselling Choice uses and protects any information including ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) that clients may give while using Counselling Choice services. PII, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context.

Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the Counselling Choice website or when accessing Counselling Choice services, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

We will not use your contact details or personal information to send you email marketing materials.

Early termination of counselling services

In exceptional circumstances, such as illness, unavailability due to bereavement, inappropriate behaviour by the client, actual or potential conflict of interest or other reasons, the Counsellor can decide to terminate the service to the client early or refuse/be unable to provide further counselling sessions. In such a circumstance the client will be given notice of termination by the Counsellor and will be refunded any advance payments made for counselling sessions not yet provided. The Counsellor will make every effort to sign post the client to other suitable services who may be able to offer alternative support.

Counselling Choice may change this policy by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 1st August 2021.
